My name is Rodia Sikiru I’m a Nigerian fashion designer from. When designing a new dress, I start by searching for inspirations across different platforms; (social media, Pinterest etc). Then I sketch my designs on a sketchbook to give me an overview of how I want the designs to look. Based on my sketch, I go to market for fabric sourcing, and I pick fabric textures and color based on the detailing on the dress. To start making the dress, I draft patterns based on the body size and style, cut the fabrics, neatly make the dress. Finally, I fit the dress to ensure that everything looks great.
