Information We Collect
When you use Ubuntu-AI, we collect certain information to provide and improve our services:
- Account information (name, email)
- Content you upload (images, descriptions)
- Prompts: short questions about your work. We store these with your project and do not currently show them on public project pages
- Survey responses you submit as part of research participation
- Contact information if provided for art sales
- Technical information needed to operate the site (such as server logs)
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Operate and maintain the platform
- Carry out research you take part in, including surveys you complete
- Help people find work on this platform
- Help you train image-generation tools you control (such as LoRA weights in UPCY), if you use those tools
- Let people contact you about personal use, licensing work, buying a product, a classroom demo, or other use of your work
- Improve our services and user experience
- Communicate important updates
Data Sharing
Your creative work (images and descriptions) is publicly viewable on the platform so others can discover it. Prompts are stored with your project and are not currently shown on public pages. Ubuntu-AI does not sell your personal information and does not license or deliver a dataset of artwork to AI companies. Donations to the platform, and the OpenAI Foundation funding paid to participants, do not grant anyone a license to download or use contributor files.
We may share or expose information as follows:
- Public project pages, which anyone on the internet can view (including companies that might save what is on the page)
- Messages you choose to send, or receive, through the contact-the-artist flow. If someone wants to buy, license, or use your work (including for AI), they must arrange that with you. You provide the materials after you are paid.
- Optional studio or sales links and contact details you choose to display
- Service providers who help operate the platform (hosting, email, payments such as Stripe, and sign-in with Google or Discord)
Stripe donations on our donate page support hosting and development. They do not unlock artwork or a data feed.
Data Protection
While we implement security measures to protect your data, please note that no internet transmission is 100% secure. We:
- Use secure protocols for data transmission
- Regularly update our security measures
- Limit access to personal information
- Monitor for potential security issues
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request corrections to your data
- Delete your account and associated content from Ubuntu-AI. We can unpublish and remove files we host. We cannot undo copies someone already made from a public page.
- Opt out of communications
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and a small number of preference settings in your browser. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. See our Cookies Policy for details.
